NWN2 Torio Claven

The former ambassador to Luskan was given the the first mercy she had ever known by Knight Captain Kyrie de Chantraine, and it changed her life.

A dancer and singer on the streets of the worst city in the free world, Torio had an adoring fan in the young Hosttower wizard named Althraion "Sand" Nhaereseer. He would give her gifts and see that she never came to any harm. However, the brutality of her life gave Torio an obsession with vengeance and being the consort of a minor wizard would never allow her to achieve those ends. She turned Althraion away.

After meeting a powerful man named Black Garius, Torio was promised everything she could ever ask for in return for being Garius' eyes where his scrying could not take him. She did his bidding without question, but it was soon apparent he did not have any love nor loyalty for the young woman and his cruelty and hunger for power left her broken and terrified.

Torio sought out the young wizard but was told he had left the Hosttower in fear for his life after refusing to do their dark tasks. She was trapped. In a twist of fate, Garius set her against the man who had once loved her in an attempt to destroy not only him but his dear friend, the new Knight Captain of Crossroad Keep, by accusing them of murdering an entire village of innocent souls. She failed and all Luskans were ousted from the city in disgrace.

When she saw the disappointment and disgust in Sand's eyes during the trial, Torio's heart and spirit were broken. Angered at her failure, Black Garius cruelly tortured her and left her for dead.

After the dark mage was defeated by KC Kyrie and her friends, Torio was found and brought to Crossroad Keep at the behest of Kyrie. There, she was asked to act as Kyrie's eyes and ears.

It was agonizing for Torio to see Sand day after day, and have him ignore or belittle her at every turn. She saw it as just desserts for her actions towards him.

When it was reported that Kyrie was killed in the battle with the King of Shadows, Sir Nevalle threw her out of the Keep and told her never to return to the Sword Coast on pain of death. Fleeing for her life, Torio picked up two orphan children and settled in a small village.

As fate would have it, she was reunited with the gentle paladin Kyrie who had not only survived, but was devoid of all of her memories, travelling with none other then the elven wizard Sand.

Unable to deny their feelings for one another any longer, and with all that had happened, Sand and Torio declared their love for one another.

Torio Claven-Nhaereseer was finally able to put her dark, sad past behind her and grow into the bright, beautiful star she was always meant to be, because someone had the courage to give her a second chance
