Tari how do you make these? I am so jealous that I can't create something like this!

*blink*
No one is jealous of me, ever. For ANY reason.
You don't want to create bumpy frustrating art like this!

I am awful at describing how to do stuff, I just do it....I will have to write it down. Then will you tell me how to fix the bumps? But...when you know how to make them then my special letters won't be special anymore hehe. You will have them all over your house!

haha your right! Never give out your artistic secrets. I do the same thing with my butterflies. No one knows why they are so much more vibrant and colorful than the normal models you see on DA - and I'll never tell because I'm making a killing on shutterstock from those winged beauties!

I'll have to find some time to try and figure out how to get rid of the "jagged edges" - It's nearly impossible since the "ivy" is layered onto the letters. I'll see what I can do but it will take awhile ;)

The text is done in stages. First the letter is made, then the "front" face of the letter is colored in black. THAT is where the jaggies show up the most. The letter body I find is never as pixelated as that front face. I have tried doing the modification in AI and in CS both but no settings make a difference. Hand painting round the edges is the only way I have found thus far.

I find most 3d artists use the one program and leave it at that; stock OR manip artists. I bet you do more post processing then others' do to make your pieces stand out so beautifully. Your butterflies are the only ones I use.

Thanks Tari... and your right. I spend HOURS in Photoshop making the renders perfect. My Mom was a perfectionist and I guess I inherited it. I will post no render before it's time

Sometimes I will render in Daz Studio, unhappy with the render so I'll export the model to a more powerful 3D program like Cinema 4D, setup new lights, edit the textures for more realism, render it and then post process in Photoshop.

Your ability to understand 3D totally blows me away David. I have visual issues, and seeing in those dimensions is extraordinarily difficult for me. Every 3D thing I pull off to me is a miracle. That is why I am so proud of those pieces the most; they came at a huge cost to my sanity LOL. Especially since the tutorials for them were hard to understand, didn't work at all like shown, and required so much bloomin' fiddling on my part which was both frustrating and gratifying all at once.
