Not every idea is brilliant, but some are plain bad fun!
"Oh hells, no! You aren't leaving me behind!" said Torio, narrowing her grey eyes at Sand as he dressed in what she called his 'adventure gear'.
"Torio, a'maelamin," he purred, "this might be a terribly dangerous mission!"
She rolled her eyes and looked at him askance, pointed to herself and dramatically mouthed the words ambassador to Luskan
"I think I know what danger is, nin meleth. You aren't going without me!" she insisted.
The two of them had lounged around their house for most of the day, the boredom beginning as an occasional nip that had rapidly turned into a rabid fever. Sand had exhausted all his tomes and experiments, they had made love several times in several places, eaten and drank to excess and there really seemed to be nothing else to do.
It had been Sand's big idea.
"You know, there is this artifact..." he had begun, and slowly over the course of a few hours, it became imperative that he somehow gain possession of it.
Just a quick teleport in, and a quick teleport out. At the last second of his cast, Torio leaped into his field and clung onto him.
It really was not that difficult a plan: quick trip in, locate and quick trip out.
Until the magic dampening field that they'd failed to consider caused his invisibility spell to fail. Twice.
Chased by several enraged wizards and a few sword wielders, the two of them had ducked and dodged through town, avoiding several arrows and magic missiles. In his rush to beat a hasty retreat, Sand had dropped the artifact. Cursing loudly, pulling Torio along with him by the hand, he had gotten them out the front gates.
Hiding in a forest clearing to catch their breath, Torio had taken off her dress shoes, inciting a reaction from her beloved.
"By all things holy, you insist on coming with me on this trip against my better judgment, and you wear a party dress and heels? Have you lost your mind, girl?"
Torio simply tossed a clump of earth at him.
"I wear what I want!"
Shouts from behind them got them moving again, and they ran through a field onto an old dirt road. Sand began casting his teleportation spell as Torio collapsed beside him on the ground, shoes in hand.
"Hurry, Sand, hurry they are casting at us! This whole thing was a bad idea!" she cried seeing the advancing mob.
There was a hiss and a displacement of air as they vanished.
Torio was laughing so hard when they got back into their house, she couldn't even catch her breath. Sand was covered in burrs, his hair was disheveled and his ire up.
"What in the hells is so funny, girl? That was a total waste of time, and we could have been killed!"
"But we weren't bored! We survived!" Torio tossed her shoes into a corner and collapsed on the bed, Sand glaring at her. She reached down the front of her dress and extracted something. Tossing it unceremoniously onto the table she erupted in a fit of laughter again when she saw the look of incredulity on the elf's face.
"How did you manage to get this?! I dropped it when we ran!" he looked both puzzled and delighted as he fell back onto the bed beside her, having shed his burr infested outer clothing.
Torio crawled up and sat astride him, taking his hands and pinning them over his head. Giving him a tender kiss, she grinned down at him.
"How, you ask? Well, have you forgotten a'maelamin...its me, Toree-Oh."
Pulling his arms free, he put them around her neck and pulled her down to him for another kiss, then with a gleeful bark he flipped her off him onto her back.
"That does explain much, dear girl," he purred "and now you shall receive the gratitude of a humble wizard."
Her response was drowned out as he crushed his lips to hers.
