She had fallen asleep with the tome on her chest, moonlight filtering through the open window, her dreams filled with the dragons she so adored. The tower she had claimed as her own rose above the darkened, sleeping Keep where the only evidence of life were the patrolling Greycloaks.
Mala'Reigh wasn't sure what exactly had awakened her; the shadow that passed across the light, her father's cat jumping up and running off with a startled cry or the strange sound she wasn't even sure she had heard.
Dropping a glowstone into her lantern and speaking the arcane words to illuminate it, she crept down the cold iron circular stair.
The half-elf felt more then saw a presence at the bottom of the stairs, and she peered into the darkness. Seeing and hearing nothing else, she chided herself.
Perhaps father is right. You spend far too much time fantasizing about dragons who would most rightly eat you if you came upon them, then you do in proper study!
Then she turned around... ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- With thanks to:
It was your idea to put the drake in there. So tell me, a'maelamin, does he eat the little half-elf? Make a tasty snack out of the wizard's lovely daughter?
I have to say, this is impressive. It's definitely amongst your best works, in my book, because of its softness and incredible use of lighting. Very well done- if the fan fiction is just as good as its art, DA is in for a sensational treat!
The only stories attached are the ones under the pictures. Yes, Mala'Reigh has a story attached to her but I am not sure if its going to be told in pictures only or as literature.
Im thrilled that you like it though. My muse gets kudos on this one thats for sure.
O~oh, I thought it was a story lol. It's fine if you want to tell the story through pictures, but...it would be interesting to read the story you have in mind . It's still a great image and story, Tari. I'm glad you've got your spark back
I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
